About Us

Cancer Services of Davidson County

Physical Support

We provide a variety of equipment and supplies available for loan such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs, bedside commodes, and hospital beds. We also have a limited amount of ostomy supplies, as well as adult briefs. We are able to help provide nutritional supplements such as Boost and Ensure. For women who have had breast cancer, we provide prostheses and bras, and we have wigs for women who have experienced hair loss as a result of treatment.

Financial Support

We provide financial support to patients who qualify based upon their income level. We do this in two ways. We help by providing prescription drug assistance for patients.  We will help pay for the cost of prescription drugs and medication for conditions related to cancer and its treatment. We offer transportation reimbursements for patients based upon how many miles they travel to receive treatment and/or see the doctor.

Emotional Support

We offer emotional support through a variety of ways that are all centered around our relationship with our patients.  We provide telephone support by calling our clients monthly and also being available to them if they need to call us.  We offer individual support to any patient who would like to talk to someone.  We also have two support group meetings a month.  We call one of the meetings our SHARE meeting (Sharing Hope and Recovery Experiences). The other meeting is called “Leave Your Cancer at the Door.” They meet at our office on the second and third Thursdays of the month.

Our Mission

We provide emotional, physical, and financial support to individuals in Davidson County who are fighting cancer.
